School Curriculum

HRA School Curriculum

This school is permanently affiliated to the Council for the Indian School Certificate Examinations, New Delhi.

ICSE curriculum is equally focused on science, maths, language and art. Internal assessment is wider – it is too extensive and elaborate. It is an off suite of the University of the Cambridge that existed during the English reign and now governed by council for the Indian Certificate of Secondary Education. ICSE syllabus gives lots of stress on language especially English language which is too extensively done with plays, textbook, work book. The curriculum is based on practical application subjects like maths and science are too exhausted & comprehensive. The subjects offered are divided into 3 groups:
Group 1 :- Include compulsory subjects viz. English, history/civics, geography, and Indian language.
Group 2:- Includes Maths and science
Group 3:- has physical education.

SUPW(Socialy Useful Production Work & Community Service) is a compulsory subject for all.

All the subjects have component of internal assessment that is carried out by the school on the basis of assignment / project work / practical work / course book. There is 20% average for internal assessment in Group 1 and Group 2 , 50% for Group 3. In subjects where there are more than 1 paper the marks obtained in the subjects are calculated by taking the average of all the papers in the subject. In total the students has to prepare for 10 papers. Board result is taken from the best 5 of the papers out of which English subject is compulsory . The medium of instructions is purely English.
